"My daughter loves this dog. The songs are great and plentiful (and not annoying like some toys). It has a variety of activities to keep kids entertained for a while. Plus, it's soft and cute, and she loves to just push it around in her stroller.

"I received an email from Fisher Price informing me that my child at her age she is now would be interested in this toy. I asked my Mother to get it for my daughter for Christmas and she forgot, so I went out and got it for her after Christmas. I love it, and so does my daughter. I love all the songs that it has. It has her favorite song (itsy bitsy spider). My daughter loves the red heart that lights up!! I will definitely recommend this product to all my friends."

"My 5 month old daughter recieved this puppy for Christmas. She immediately loved listening to the songs and watching the heart light up. Now that she is 6 months old, she grabs for the puppy's paws and tries to eat his ears. I sing the songs along with the puppy and she loved to watch us perform for her. I look forward to hearing her learn body parts, colors, favorite songs and more from this wonderful puppy. After reading previous reviews, I checked my puppy and he plays the complete versions of all the songs. Great gift!"

"I love the fact that this product has many features but I think I just recieved a faulty puppy. My two friends already have this so I bought one as well, but I'm not fully satisfied. When I press the foot for music or ABC's it turns to different modes, sometimes it will turn off without me touching the foot. I think it's way too sensitive or the chip in the foot is just put in incorrectly."

"I received this 3 years ago (without the heart) for my granddaughter and she still plays with it. I bought another one for my new granddaughter and this one has the heart in the chest. The new one does not play the music all the way through like the other puppy does. I checked in other stores to see if they played the music all the way through and did not find any. Only 1/2 the songs played.
These babies are learning and need to have the whole alphabet, numbers and songs completed. Get rid of the heart (who cares if the heart sings a half a song) and bring the old Learning Puppy back. It's more informative.

You’re right – babies do need to hear the whole alphabet, numbers and complete songs, and you’ll be happy to hear that Learning Puppy is equipped to teach your new granddaughter all of those things! But it sounds like your puppy is stuck in a “try-me” setting we use to conserve battery life while the product is in the store. That’s why the other products you tested in stores did not play entire songs, either – they were set for demonstration vs. real play. Your toy won’t fully function until two try-me tags are removed from the back of the product. One is for you to remove when you get the toy home, and the other should have been removed by the retailer.
The best thing to do is to call us at 1-800-432-5437. We’ll connect you to a customer service representative who has experience dealing with your issue, and they’ll give you further instructions so your granddaughter ends up with a teaching pal who works perfectly!

"We bought this toy for my daughter when she was 18 months old. She played with it for a few months every few days or so, but now she has outgrown it and she's only two and a half. She has no interest in it unless it's turned off and she can act like it's a baby doll.
Overall, I say it was a good purchase for the price for the few months it entertained her."

"I have two grand-daughters. They each have one and they both LOVE this little guy. The first one purchased did have a button that didn't work. I took it back to the store and it was immediately replaced no questions asked... Ever since, it has been one of the favorites. The kids love that it plays music, and that it also has a learning mode for 123 and ABC... Teaches colors, body parts, and tells them things kids love to hear.... I love you... You're my friend... That tickles my toes...
If you feel that you've heard him enough... He's one of those toys you can simply turn him off!
Friends have purchased them for their kids/grandkids because they have seen these at my house... and fell in love with this little guy...

My Son's Favorite Puppy!

"We bought this for our son for his 1st Birthday. He loved it and he still enjoys playing with it. At first, he enjoyed smiling at it and giving it kisses. I think the smile on the puppy made him smile too. Now he enjoys playing with the feet, hands, nose, and tummy. The ear quit working early on. I have the older version of this puppy purchased May 2009. I hope the newer puppy does not have that problem. My son certainly enjoys this puppy and I would recommend it to a friend. Thanks Fisher Price! The only thing I would change, other than the ear, is that it would be made in the USA."

"My nephew has had 3 of this dogs now. The first two dogs the ear went out and stopped working. Now with the third dog the music button on the dog's hand has gone out and don't work. If I could I would give this toy a 0 for durability. Besides these problems the toy would be great."

"I read some of the other reviews and like one of the other reviewers said, it does not play the whole song and it is very frustrating. I don't know why Fisher Price created the toy and then did not include the whole song or chant for each of the paws. As a music teacher who taught these same songs and chants to preschool children, this really bothers me. It's a good thing that I know the songs and chants because at least I can complete the song, but still my daughter loves to hear the music and hear me sing along, but when it cuts off in the middle, I think even she is bothered by it! Please change this for the future. If Fisher Price would use the whole song, it would be a great toy."

"My 4 year old received this for her 1st birthday - and had NEVER played with it. We then received two more two years later on my 2 year olds 1st birthday. Needless to say they went back to the store. I now have 3 very different little children and none of then has ever had any interest in this toy. The only time they showed interest was when it was in the box."

"My parents bought this puppy for my son when he was about 9 months old, and he LOVES it. He is about to be 3, and believe it or not, he still plays with it. The ONLY complaint I have, is that the ear stopped working. I bought a second puppy, and the ear stopped working in that one too. "My son got this from his aunt in Boston for his 1st birthday and didn't seem much interested in it until right before he turned 2. Since then it goes everywhere he goes.
We lost it at my mom's for a bit, but he was very happy to have it back again when they found it.
I would defiantly recommend this toy to any parent. The best part is if it gets annoying they put this little switch in the back that turns it down of off all together.
As long as he's happy with it so am I."

"I bought this for my daughter about 4 months ago thinking that it would peek her interest b/c of the large color palletes. It really didn't do anything for her. She gets happy when she hears the music and the talking but can't make out how to do it herself. Getting her to see where to press the paws or the ears to get it to activate is time consuming and, ultimately, frustrating. Also, the one I purchased doesn't have the light-up heart. This one is not a bad purchase (there are worse) but it's not the best one either."
