"My 3.5 year old loves this toy and plays with it everyday since Christmas. Sometimes he even lets his 20 month old sister play with it. What we love: additional play pieces are reasonably priced and many pieces can be used in the water (not the Octopod). Hint Hint - we do wish there was a water friendly Octopod. My 3.5 year old's favorite part is that the Octonauts and Mickey Mouse characters are the same size (see Recommendations below)... they often team up for adventures! The pods do come off so they can be swapped out for additional pods. After the first few times I showed my 3.5 year old how to put them back together he could do it by himself."
"My three year-old daughter loves the show and this toy is now one of her favorites. She just received this as a Christmas gift and has been playing with it for hours, choosing it over the Doc McStuffins work station, her "Frozen" castle and numerous dolls. She is singing the songs, acting out her favorite scenes, and using all of the functions. It is certainly a hit in our house."
"In my opinion, the lack of durability and poor quality of this product does not reflect my previous experiences with Fisher-Price products. My son is three years old and really enjoys the Octonauts TV show. He initially liked the play set, but got very frustrated when the pods kept falling off the play set, the Octo-Alert wouldn’t stay attached, and the hanging basket strings kept falling off and were impossible for him to put back on. The overall durability of the toy is not conducive to that of a child that’s of pre-school/kindergarten age, yet, the product target this age group. On the positive side, the toy helps foster his imagination skills and allow him to role play the different scenarios he sees on the TV. Just wish the toy held up better during play time."
