"I gave the kids this before Christmas to help them understand the Christmas Story. My 3 yr. old grandson asked why are the 3 Kings happy and I said because Jesus has been born. My daughter later heard him playing with the set and shouting, "Yay! Jesus is here! Wahoo!" I'm really glad I bought them their very own Nativity Set. The music helps to hold their attention and the 19 month old rocked back and forth to the music and really likes the angel that twirls to the top of the stable. Love it! I also got a very good price on this directly from the FisherPrice Store!"

Really great purchase

"I bought the nativity set for my grandson after his mom said SHE would really like it. My grandson loves the 'little people', he is 16 mos. He has played with this over most of his other toys. He loves to touch baby Jesus and have the music play and the light come on. His three year old cousin joined it and she took ALL his animals and gathered them around the stable. She also really liked the 'dancing' Angel on the stable.
All the way around this toy set was a big hit. As a consumer I love the durability of the set, the colors and the size of the characters are just perfect for these little hands!! Thanks so much..."

Meaningful yet fun gift

"We are delighted with the nativity set, except that the animal sounds don't emit when the stable door is open/closed. It's not a deal breaker, and we would have never missed it had it not been featured in the adverstisement. This is the sort of gift that can be enjoyed year after year, each successive time with the child's understanding of its meaning. It lends itself well to interactive play, and can stimulate language development as well."

So excited, but a bit disappointed

"So excited to get this for my children, a beautiful set that kids can play with, However after the first time opening the barn door that makes animal noises, the door will not close, it is caught on something on the inside. Which means it can't even make the animal noises because it has to close to do it- my kids didn't even touch it yet. I called customer service and they are unable to replace it. customer service was kind and I know it was not their fault. But I truly hope this can be resolved in the future...if anyone else has this issue, and you can write a review in response on how to fix I would appreciate it! other than that it is a GREAT addition to my home and for my kids. My kids love it and the musical part. we got the entire set and i am glad I did because you can't get this anywhere else."

"I have had the Little People Nativity for years. Mine was bought as three different sets. Love it and consider it one of my best purchases ever! Went to purchase it as a gift and see that it has changed. I like that you can purchase it as one complete set but there is only one camel and one tent. As far as I am concerned this is incomplete. Since there are three wise men there should be three tents and three camels. More animals would be nice as well. Hopefully, Fisher Price will complete the package."

"My two-and-a-half-year old son was clamoring for his "present" before I got the tape off. Once we got the pieces unwrapped and set up, he immediately began some very focused play. He really enjoys the donkey-pulled wagon and pressing the manger for Baby Jesus to light up and play the two songs. He keeps rearranging the base pieces (well, wise men's tent, palm trees, etc.) I don't think he's realized the stable doors make animal noises when you open them yet, so he has another delightful surprise in store."

Wonderful First Nativity Set!

"This is a terrific nativity set--colorful, interactive, and durable enough to be enjoyed by very young children.
The set was purchased for a 9 month old. He's a bit young for it, but we chose it knowing he'd enjoy it more with each successive Christmas. At this point, his main interest was putting the toys in his mouth--he's teething and especially loved gnawing on the feed sack--but he did master how to pull the baby Jesus off the peg that holds him in the stable and also liked picking up various pieces and clicking them together. He LOVED the light and music that plays when you press baby Jesus; he rocked back and forth to the music every time! He also enjoyed trying to catch the angel whenever we slid the star to make her move.
We purchased the three sets (Nativity Playset, Lil' Shepherds, and Wise Men) directly from Fisher Price's online store. These Fisher Price exclusive sets have more figures than some of the retail store sets. There is only one tent and one camel to be shared between the three kings, unlike previous years' versions, but my nephew won't be noticing this anytime soon. (Although to satisfy myself, I went to the Fisher Price store in East Aurora, NY and was able to purchase two additional camels!)
All in all, this is a wonderful toy that allows very young children to really play with a nativity set that is geared to their level. I'm sure it will be a much-treasured part of Christmas celebrations for years to come!"

A nativity that kids can play with!

"I have read other reviews and I do agree with the lack of background pieces, camels and tents. I would have liked more. BUT, that being said, I did not have a set prior to this and my granddaughters, who are 1 and 2, still benefited from a really wonderful toy. The pieces are beautiful and durable. The fact that Baby Jesus lights up and plays music not only helped me show them who was important in the story, it DREW them to the important aspect of the Christmas story, so WELL DONE! I love this toy and now I am not afraid of setting up my own Nativity Set because they have one they are ALLOWED to play with and love! Thanks for so many wonderful sets. Will soon purchase the Valentine, St. Patrick's Day and Easter Sets. I bought the Hannukah set eventhough we are not of the Jewish faith. My children were taught the beliefs of other families when they were young and I will also teach my granddaughters what others hold dear. Wish you made a Kwanzaa series, as I would buy it also! Keep up the good work!"

"I was thrilled to find a nativity set in a retail store. I purchased 2 in fact and am now disappointed in my sets as they do not include the shepherd figure. It has a sheep, 3 wisemen, 1 camel, 1 background fence type unit, 1 feeding bunk fence, etc., but it does not contain a shepherd figure. The story of the nativity is not complete without the shepherd figure. I would much rather have the shepherd figure than the background and feeding bunk fences as they are not a part of the nativity story. I love Little People sets and have many of them for the grand and great grandchilren to play with in my family room."

Little People Nativity Set

"I do not like the looks of 2011 set. I wanted to add the other pieces to the sets I bought other years and now I have an incomplete set. This makes me sad. I love the looks of the set from 2008 and until this year. Please go back to the big set."

Very disappointed in this year's version

"My mother buys my children a piece of this set every year. It gives them something to look forward to & add to their collection. Well my 4 year old has all 3 pieces & they are very nice (his was finished last year). My 2 year old only has 1 piece from last year. This years set does not compare to the previous years. The sets are missing background pieces, the 3 wise men all had their own camels & tents. Will not be purchasing any this year in hopes that they change the sets back to how they were. Over all DO NOT BUY THIS YEAR, & hope that they change the sets back to the way they were (much nicer before)."

"The 2010 Nativity Set I bought for my first grandson came with a lot more pieces than the 2011 set I purchased for my second grandson. The 2010, for example, came with 3 scene backdrops, and 3 camels, three tents with the Wise Men. When I saw the two sets side-by-side, I was very disappointed in the reduction in pieces. I may not purchase one next year for my granddaughter--will wait and see if they reduce it even further."

"This has to be the absolute best present to get a child. For years, I wanted one like this that was totally hands on. The reason for this was every kid always headed straight for my ceramic nativity set, especially Baby Jesus. Naturally, I worried about breakage. Found this a couple of years ago...perfection!!! Not only is it a great toy, it can also help teach kids the true meaning of Christmas. I cannot recommend this high enough...I bought 2 complete sets...one for my house and one for the grands. and bummer, it is $20 cheaper than I paid for it. I love that it plays "Away in a manger" too. so many presents are only played with for a short while. this one is a year after year one...could be passed down generation to generation...not a fad"
